第一步是断句。
从整句来看,没有什么难懂的句子结构,但是比原文脱节很多。这种句子是最后一种类型的句子,即长句不需要断句,但有很多生词,只要把专业名词按顺序适当翻译就可以了。
翻译的第二步
随着剧烈运动的结束,体液中乳酸上升,大型动物处于脆弱状态。2.已知乳酸经过有氧代谢,被肝脏重新转化为葡萄糖,然后部分返回肌肉形成糖原。
1.根据专业的生物学知识,burst这个词的意思是“暴力的”,而不是“爆炸性的”
2.把vulnerable翻译成“vulnerable to …”让句子更通顺。
第三步:重读

1.这就导致了定语从句在句子中是一个后译,所以要注明哪个是什么。

第一步:断句。
这个句子由另一个状语从句和一个主句组成。主句中有宾语从句,宾语从句中有插入语和定语从句。
1.这种句子结构在英语中很常见。在翻译中,我们应该注意主语第一的原则。其次要注意的是,汉语连词两个都出现,而英语连词一个出现。所以在翻译的过程中。英译汉要增加连词,汉译英要减少连词。“但是,然而,但是”这几个字应该出现在这个句子之后的译文中。
第二步:翻译。
虽然古特曼认为1、买卖导致的被迫分离非常频繁,但他仍然认为奴隶的偏好——这在买卖不频繁的种植园中表现得最为明显——在很大程度上集中于4稳定的一夫一妻制。
1.首先是主语,然后是连词“though”,最后是动词翻译。这个动词之前说过很多次了,应该是“想”
2.因为这里出现了抽象名词分离,所以加了一个动词,翻译成“由强制分离引起”而不是“强制分离”
3.首先,这个括号要重点放在位置上。当插入语表达说话人的观点时,有必要提到句首的翻译。然而,当一个短语或句子用作插入语时,它不表达意见。在翻译中,我们经常把它保持在原来的位置,用破折号连接起来。在这个括号里,还有一个where引导的定语从句。这是一个表示地点的定语从句。它有8个单词,所以应该放在前面。而且,这个由revealed引导的过去分词短语表示被动语态。翻译时,注意把“被”字换成其他字。
4.very much翻译成“在很大程度上”,for翻译成“专注于”,更符合句子逻辑,不会造成歧义。
第三步:重读
尽管guttmann认为买卖导致的强制分离是经常发生的,但他仍然认为奴隶的偏好——在买卖不频繁的种植园中表现得最为明显——主要集中在稳定的一夫一妻制上。

第二步:翻译

1、先出主语时中文的习惯,动词翻译为“认为”是出现过多次的译法。Guteman suggests 出现在句子中间成插入语,并且表示说者的观点,所以应当将其提到句首翻译。
2、 West Africa 到底翻译成“西部的非洲”还是“西非”?
West Beijing :人为划分的行政区域,翻译为“西北京”虽然拗口,但是是标准译文。例如: South Africa 指的是南非, North America 指的是北美。
Western Beijing :自然地理意义上的范围,翻译为“北京的西部”
the west of Beijing :是“北京的西边”不在北京的范围之内。
3、some kind of 在这里翻译成“某些”,而不是“一些”,因为科学家在表达观点时经常不确定,所以用“某些”更加符合要求。
4、unions with close kin 翻译为“近亲结婚”能让句子更加生动、流畅。
第三步:重读
译:古特曼认为,这种对于外族通婚的偏好可能起源于西非制约着的婚姻片风俗,这些风俗尽管在一个部落和另一个部落之间不尽相同,但是,这一切都涉及某些对于近亲结婚的反对。
1、这个以which引导的定语从句是非限定的,而且在which的后面也出现了一个逗号,这个逗号又是表示出现插入语的,这样的用法在英语中很常见,所以在翻译是一定要把which 指什么翻译出来。
